Living Without's Favorite Books: Your Friendly Guide
The Total Food Allergy Health and Diet Guide (Robert Rose) is one of those books for every allergic household. Written by dietitian Alexandra Anca with allergist Gordon L. Sussman, MD, it contains 150 recipes, as well as important information for managing food allergies and intolerances. This book takes you aisle by aisle through the grocery store, helping you eliminate the Big 8 allergens plus sesame seeds, sulfites and mustard. Chapter 1 is where it starts: the immune system. Anca explains diagnostic tests and medical terms. Then based on the food allergen, she guides you through symptoms and disorders. She shows you foods to enjoy, foods to question and foods to avoid. Issues covered range from anaphylaxis and psychological impacts to food labeling (US and Canada) and meal planning. This book gives you greater understanding to help you achieve better health.
