Grapevine
Homemade Margarine
Im allergic to gluten, dairy, soy, grapes and mint and have navigated a special diet for 27 years. Five years ago, the manufacturer of the only margarine I could eat began adding soy to its formula. I resorted to using peanut butter, mayo and oil as spreads but I longed for the comfort of melted margarine on my hot (tapioca) toast.
Phenomenal Fennel
The fennel plant has been used since early days of recorded history for healing and nutrition. Its medicinal qualities are mentioned in the writings of the ancient Greeks and Romans and noted throughout Middle Eastern and British history. Fennel may be one of natures most useful and versatile herbs. The plant we cultivate today produces seeds (actually small fruit) and has a large bulb at its base thats consumed much like celery. Its significant culinary attributes belie its medicinal properties.
