I recently returned from a trip to Australia and New Zealand. Traveling on the opposite side of the globe broadened my perspective on how special diets are accommodated in other parts of the world. I discovered that my gluten-free diet, which used to make me feel different and a bit left out, often served to unite me with people who I might not have otherwise met.
