Lets face it. A special diet can be expensivebut there are ways to ease the strain. Enjoy delicious meals and stay within budget with some special-diet shopping tips. Limit purchases of processed foods. Cooking from scratch is less expensive and usually better for you. Consider shopping for basics (gluten-free grains, flours, etc.) at local ethnic stores. Asian markets often sell rice, rice flour and rice noodles in bulk. Mexican groceries offer corn tortillas and corn flour at reasonable prices.
