Life in the Beach Lane
While no snow has fallen yet here in Sun Valley, the air carries a hint that winter is near. Daylight is slower to appear each day and dropping temperatures make leaving the warmth of bed increasingly challenging in the morning. But I do get up because I-MUST-SWIM. Just one year ago, I couldn’t imagine why anyone would swim outside all year long. But that was before I became acquainted with the beach lane. When I moved to Idaho last fall, I was determined to take advantage of all this resort community has to offer. The master’s swim team at the local health club was legendary and, while I wasn’t much of a swimmer, one day I summoned up the courage to join the group. I was instructed to go to a lane at the far end of the pool.
