Healthy and Nutritious Kabobs for Kids

Parents of young children can learn a trick from fast food restaurants. Even the fussiest eater enjoys bite-size foods served with a dipping sauce and packaged in a playful way. Here’s a healthy alternative—kid kabobs. For kabobs, use toothpicks, bamboo skewers (available in many sizes), popsicle-style sticks (no points) or small chop sticks. Balance each meal with protein and complex carbs (veggies and fruits) and healthy fats (like olive oil and coconut oil found in some dipping sauces). Customize your child’s menu and take mealtime to a new level with fun food on a stick. Mix and match foods based on taste, nutrition and specific dietary needs. The possibilities are endless.
