Living Without Books: You’re the Mom: Child Vaccinations

Or the dad. Whichever you are, it's tough to get information you need to make wise decisions, especially concerning your child’s health. Help has arrived. The Parent’s Concise Guide to Childhood Vaccinations (Hatherleigh Press) clearly lays out the pros and cons of currently recommended childhood vaccinations. Author Lauren Feder, M.D., who also wrote Natural Baby and Childcare, discusses each targeted medical condition, including incidence, symptoms, disease progression, possible complications and treatment. Feder describes prescribed vaccines, along with side effects and risks. She suggests a “safe shot strategy” and recommendations for additional reading and holistic health resources. This book is serious stuff—but so is your child’s health. Armed with this book and your child’s healthcare practitioner, you can make informed decisions regarding the vaccination process.
