Going Gluten-FreeApril 18, 2012

Who's Your Favorite GF Blogger?

I’m just back from The Gluten and Allergen Free Expo in Chicago. This annual event (Living Without is the title sponsor) is always truly amazing--and it was even better this year with more exhibitors than ever, a vibrant program and tons of happy attendees.

This year’s Expo was “fronted” the day before by a separate conference for special-diet food bloggers (Nourished Food Bloggers Conference). The first-time event gave me the opportunity to meet some very enthused gluten-free web entrepreneurs and to hear their inspiring stories. These energetic folks are heating up cyberspace with their recipes and baking tips, as well as supportive comments and insights into living well with food allergies and sensitivities.

May is National Celiac Awareness Month, an excellent time to highlight the gluten-free community in cyberspace. Who are your favorite GF food bloggers? What sites do you enjoy most—and why? We’ll compile a list of your favorites and ours and share their stories and favorite recipes (and website links) during the month of May.

We like & read several of those above but the absolute fave is glutenfreegirl.com because of the seasonally inspired foods, lovely writing & stories, well-written recipes using weights for better accuracy & alternatives to xanthan & guar gums & more. Thanks to all who share their ideas & adventures with the rest of us!

Glutenfreerecipebox.com (gluten free Carla) is great. Her recipes are wonderful and easy to follow and if you have a question, she responds and tries to help. If I am looking for a recipe, I go to her site first.

My favorite blogger is www.theglutenfreemaven.com on Twitter: @glutenfreemaven.

She writes very relevant posts for families dealing with celiac disease and food allergies, provides creative recipes and wonderful reference materials.

The gluten free maven does a lot of book reviews and giveaways.

www.dailybitesblog.com Daily Bites blog by Hallie Klecker. Her website is loaded with information and recipes that are gluten and dairy free. I love to cook and this website helps me take my cooking to a higher level! Thanks Hallie, for all the effort in time and energy to help people like myself with food allergies.

I agree; Amie's blog TheHealthyApple.com is great. I think we can all learn something from her positive spirit and clean eating philosophy. She's been through so much with her health and her spirit is so strong- she's inspired my whole family to eat healthier...kind of think of it as just 'naturally gluten-free'.

I love Amie from www.TheHealthyApple.com she has such an amazing energy and inspires all of us. I've heard her speak at so many gluten-free events and her recipes are so fresh and she doesn't use processed foods- which is great for all of our digestive systems.
